"It's not a whodunit. It's a whydunit."
Canadian crime series Motive marks its 2nd Avenue debut with a weekend marathon of its fourth and final season on May 5 and 6. The hit drama follows the investigations of Detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and her team. It's your typical murder mystery, replete with clues and investigation scenes, but with a twist. There are no off-screen assailants or menacing silhouettes, the killers are already revealed at the start of each episode, thus leaving viewers to guess why the dirty deed was done. Hence, the straightforward title.
Set and filmed in Vancouver, the procedural drama also stars Louis Ferreira as Detective Oscar Vega, Brendan Penny as Detective Brian Lucas, and Lauren Holly as Dr. Betty Rogers. The show was nominated for Best Dramatic Series at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards and garnered 1.24 million viewers in 2015. In this particular season, they are joined by two new recurring cast members, Karen LeBlanc, who plays Detective Paula Mazur and The 100's Victor Zinch, Jr., who plays the quirky Detective Mitch Kennecki.
